早春时节,人们都褪去厚厚的外套,秀出美丽的曲线,此时,是不是非常羡慕一些人的苗条身材呢? Tian Xintong’s friends find her "exasperating." The 22-year-old flight attendant, who is based in Beijing, seems never to put on weight, no matter how many things she eats.
It becomes even more obvious in early spring, when everyone begins to get rid of thick clothes and show off their figure.
早春时节,人们都褪去厚厚的外套,秀出美丽的曲线,这就表现的更为明显。
It seems that everyone has a friend like Tian. How do they remain svelte with seemingly little effort when everyone else is struggling to maintain their weight? What’s their secret?
"I think besides genetic reasons, I do have certain habits in my daily life, which prevent me from putting on weight easily," said Tian.
田说,“我认为除了遗传因素,我在日常生活中的一些习惯也能帮助我保持苗条身材。”
Tian said she never forces herself to diet and compared with those girls who are always on a diet, she often researches home cooking and keeps improving the quality of the foods she consumes. Her favorite snacks are baked crispy apple chips and hawthorn sweetened rolls, which she makes herself.
According to a recent report by the International Journal of Obesity, Tian’s words are not rootless. Thin people seem to have several good habits that may make them slimmer than others, including eating, drinking and reading habits.
Victoria Beckham, who is in her 40s, still keeps a slender figure even with her habit of eating snacks, said a 2014 Daily Mail report. What’s the catch? She makes them herself.
She roasts purple cabbage with salt and pepper, which makes "a perfect replacement for chips." She also puts grapes into the freezer, and claims they have the taste and texture of ice cream, the report said.
Beijing-based nutritionist, Shi Jie, said people need not give up snacks to lose weight. "Victoria Beckham’s recipe is great, and we can also add some olive oil when roasting, which makes the snacks more nutritious," said Shi, who also recommended roasting carrots and sweet potatoes.
Besides making her own snacks, Tian said she also likes to eat raw foods. Shi shares the same view. "I recommend eating raw green peppers, cabbages, and salmon," said Shi. "These are among the best to be eaten raw because they contain a lot of fiber and water and can generate more satiety."
Tian learned about the benefit of eating raw foods from a health-and-fitness WeChat account. "I follow several and browse them daily," said Tian.
田是从一个关于健康的微信公众号上了解到生食的好处。她说,“我听从了一些建议,每天都去浏览。”
According to the International Journal of Obesity article, Kaiser Permanente, a US-based medical institution, recently released the results of a survey on the effects health news have on people. The results revealed that people who read health news daily would begin changing their food consumption patterns, eat more healthy foods, lessen their intake of trans-fatty acids, and do more physical exercise approximately 16 weeks after they start to read such information on average.
But Tian warns against believing everything you read. "It is better for one to stick to authorized health information publishers and do not believe and spread rumors such as rice can cause cancer," she said.
